Dear All,
Finally the good weather hopefully is here and now that the days are longer we should get some extra time to fly our pride and joy.
As you may notice, this month’s newsletter is being issued later than usual, for two reasons. Firstly we are very busy with meetings held with Ta’ Qali Flying Association regarding the Open Day that is to be held between the two clubs. Secondly, I was so busy for these last ten days that I didn’t get down to writing this letter. Finally I managed.
Open Day:
I would like to thank all the members who called or gave in any way there views and suggestions regarding this event as, this helped the Committee to understand what everyone of you was expecting from us.
After a couple of meetings with the ta’Qali Committee, which I would also like to thank for their cooperation, a Sub Committee was formed from the members of the two Associations. Representation of our association is as follows Mr. Brian Calleja, Mr. Victor Psaila, and yours truly. Mr. Brian Busittil, Mr. Mario Micallef and Mr. Patrick are representing the Ta’Qali Association. After an agreement between the to Associations, Mr. Henri Portelli was asked to char this Sub Committee as he is an active member in both Associations and would like to thank him for excepting this challenging task.
The Sub Committee decided that this year’s venue should be held on the 24th, 25th and 26th October 2008. It was also agreed that this event will be held every year alternatively at the sites of the respective Association. The first open day will take place at Ta’Qali. This going to be an International show with a number of foreigners already confirming the presence. So get all your best models ready so we can show what we are made of. More information will be passed on the next news letter.
Club House:
Thanks to all those who put there hands in their pocket and offered a donation towards the club house. I must say it is good that the majority of members came forward to help in the expenses of the club house and would like to ask the rest to do the same as this is for the benefit of all of us. We are planning to continue the work in the coming weeks and hope fully has it ready by the end of July.
